Miscellaneous Neighborhood Fun

This is a classic photo from high school days growing up in the neighborhood, circa 1979. It's known as 'the very first boat party.' While not literally the first, it is definitely one of the most memorable of the hundreds that followed over the next 20 years. In this picture, taken with a kodak instant camera, we're under the Veteran's Memorial Bridge in the Genesee River. We got into a tussle with some local city kids who decided Boogie's Glastron GT160 would make a good target for some stone-throwing. After luring us into the inside of the bridge structure, which was accessible through a small portal in those days, a 'lively interaction' then ensued, culminating in Money Burgio rolling down the embankment of the Genesee River gorge. Pictured in front is Doug "Boogie down clown, the Greece Town Clown" Brown, and Frank and Money Burgio in the back.

And this is the first boat adventure - a trip almost all the way to Sodus, an epic adventure in those days. You've seen the original boat party. This was the original boat adventure. That's me sitting on the bow of our 1972 Glastron Carlson CV-16, 'Turbo' Tod Clemens in the silver CV-16 and Mike Malley and Dan Brown in the sick overpowered Glastron V-143. We went almost as far as Sodus, and that was like the farthest we'd ever gone back then.

This is a boat trip to Sodus.

Wild crazy boat trip to Sodus with just about the whole neighborhood I'm guessing in the late 80's. We're pictured here at
Connolly's Cove restaurant. Participants include Darren, Kathy and Gordie Achter, Tod Clemens, Doug Brown, John Friends. Friends

This is ultra-vintage! This one goes way back. Jamie Stevens, aka Ester, and John Bucher in the locker room at Lakeshore Hockey Arena in the mid-70's. I'm thinkin' this was Hilton Hockey, which was a club team at that time, and before which we usually drank a quarter keg before hand with the players.

Me and my sis. I was actually blond back then. Gotta love the color saturation of that Kodak film!
